Ammonia volatilization of urea in the out-of-season corn Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Pereira,Hamilton Seron; Leão,Anabelisa Ferreira; Verginassi,Adriana; Carneiro,Marco Aurélio Carbone.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the N losses due to volatilization at different rates of common urea, polymer coated urea and urease inhibitor-treated urea in the out-of-season corn, using semi-open static collectors. The treatments consisted of N levels on side-dressing fertilization with urea in different treatments: (a) control (without N), (b) urea 40 kg ha-1 N, (c) urea 80 kg ha-1 N, (d) polymer coated urea 40 kg ha-1 N, (e) polymer coated urea 80 kg ha-1 N and (f) urea with the urease inhibitor (UI) N 80 kg ha-1 N. The results showed that the treatments with polymer coated urea and with urease inhibitor-treated urea reduced the volatilization of N around 50 % compared to common urea, either in the first and the second N side-dressing...

Arabica coffee response to rates of coated and conventional urea in sandy soil PAB
Abranches,Jorge Luiz; Soratto,Rogério Peres; Perdoná,Marcos José; Parecido,Renan José.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth, relative chlorophyll index and nitrogen concentrations in leaves, and the grain yield of arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) fertilized with rates of N as coated and conventional urea, in a sandy soil under rainfed conditions. The experiment was carried out over three crop years, using 'Mundo Novo IAC 388-17-1' coffee, in a randomized complete block design, in a 3×2+1 factorial arrangement, with three treatments with 150, 300, and 600 kg ha-1 N, as coated and conventional urea, and a control without N, with six replicates. Nitrogen increased stem diameter, plant height, N concentrations and relative chlorophyll index in the leaves, as well as grain yield. Over the three crop years, the highest N...

Enhancement yield and fruit quality of Washington Navel orange by application of spraying potassium microencapsulated biodegradable polylactic acid CIGR Journal
Hafez, Omaima M..
This research seeks to improve the fertilizer use efficiency, particularly potassium nutrient, and to minimize any possible dose losses. The improvement was applied by the use of foliar sprays by encapsulated potassium element into biodegradable polymer. The potassium polylactic acid microspheres (K-PLA) were characterized by Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).  Piratical size and zeta potential measurements were investigated. Thermal behavior (TGA and DTA) was studied. In capsulation percentage of potassium into PLA microspheres was 4.5 W %. Cumulative release was estimated by inductive coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), the maximum cumulative release was 3.74 % after 12 hours. Washington Navel...

Foliar and topdressing application of nitrogen to the common bean crop PAB
Kotz-Gurgacz,Tailene Elisa; Soratto,Rogério Peres; Guidorizzi,Fernando Vieira Costa.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of applying N sources to leaves and N rates to the soil on the growth, N uptake, and grain and crude protein yields of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) crop. Three experiments - two irrigated and one rainfed - were conducted during the 2012/2013 agricultural season, in a randomized complete block design with four replicates. The treatments consisted of the application of: four N rates (0, 45, 90, and 180 kg ha-1) to the soil, as topdressing in the V4 stage; and five N sources/rates - i.e., control, without foliar N application; 2.5 kg ha-1 N as conventional urea (N-CU); 5.0 kg ha-1 N-CU; 2.5 kg ha-1 N as slow-release urea-formaldehyde (N-SR); and 5.0 kg ha-1 N-SR - to leaves, in the R5...
